Red Hat Selects charity: water for 2014 U.S. Corporate Holiday Donation

Each holiday season, Red Hat associates choose a non-profit organization for our annual corporate holiday donation. This year, we're pleased to announce that our associates have selected charity: water, a non-profit organization on a mission to bring clean drinking water to every person on the planet.

Red Hat's donation to charity: water will provide approximately 2,500 people with clean and safe drinking water. charity: water funds projects for communities in need in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. To date, charity: water has funded more than 13,000 water projects in 22 countries. The organization works with sector experts to determine effective approaches and ensure that the programs used to deliver these solutions are created using best practices.

This year, Red Hat associates nominated 45 different charities for consideration. Selections were narrowed down to 5 charities, and more than 500 Red Hat associates voted to determine the finalist, with charity: water receiving the most votes.

In addition to our holiday charity effort, Red Hat supports many non-profit organizations with grants throughout the year. To extend our associates' reach and support their passions, Red Hat also matches their donations to qualifying groups.
