The Triangle Business Journal awarded Red Hat CIO Lee Congdon a CIO of the Year Award at an event held in Raleigh, NC on October 18th. The inaugural event celebrated IT leaders in the categories of private and public companies, public sector organizations, innovation and transformation as well as rising stars. Of the 23 finalists, 13 winners were announced with Congdon taking top honors in the innovation and transformation company category.

With more than 25 years of experience, Congdon is an IT leader. At Red Hat, he is responsible for the company’s global information systems, including the technology strategy, enterprise architecture, information technology governance, solutions delivery, and systems operations supporting the company. His role includes enabling Red Hat's business through services, such as knowledge management, technology innovation, technology-enabled collaboration, and process improvement.

Prior to joining Red Hat® he was managing vice president, Information Technology, at Capital One where he developed and delivered IT solutions for the firm's corporate functions and Global Financial Services group. Congdon holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in computer science from Purdue University and an MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
