Travel information

Everything you need to know before you go

The destination airport for our RHTE is Prague (PRG) so all should be able to book price worthy flights and arrive in time without any difficulties. For those coming in from Brno it will make most sense to take a train or bus to Prague.

The RHTE starts on Monday, September 17th in the afternoon and ends on Friday, September 21st at 12:30. Everybody should book flights arriving at PRG, Monday before noon and departing Friday earliest 15:00.

  1. Book a price worthy fare
  2. Arrival at airport latest 12:00 CEST on Monday
  3. Departure from airport not before 15:00 CEST Friday

If you cannot find a reasonable priced flight on the required travel dates and within the timeframe, please do not book a flight on another day or time before you have been in contact with Esther Dalderup (esther@redhat.com) to discuss the matter. Approval of your manager is not sufficient.

Visa
In case you need an invitation letter to apply for visa please contact Esther Dalderup (esther@redhat.com) as soon as possible.

For those located in Munich we will arrange a bus leaving from the Red Hat office in Grasbrunn to Prague departing on Monday, September 17th at 07:00 and returning back at the office on Friday, September 21st at around 18:00.

Planning on arriving before the event starts? Or do you want to extend your stay in Czech after the event?

In case of a private extended stay in the area you need to inform the event organization about details as such influences the logistics of the organization. You can do this by putting details in the online registration form (field: Additional travel information).

Any longer stay prior or after event is considered to be a private extension of your stay (not paid by Red Hat) unless requested with Esther and formally approved, prior to booking. Approval of your manager is not sufficient.

For the team building activity make sure to bring some comfortable shoes that you can walk in for a longer time!

Dress code - as always - the Red Hat way: anything between business casual and business informal is perfect. Also make sure to bring something that is comfortable enough to DANCE ALL NIGHT LONG in!

There will be transfers from Prague airport (PRG) to Prague Congress Centre (PCC). You can download the full arrivals schedule here.

If your flight is delayed the staff at the airport is aware and will amend accordingly, you do not have to worry about the schedule. If you are coming in from outside the EU we are aware you will need longer to get through customs. Please note, as a security matter, the buses will not take any unknown persons. Upon arrival please get your luggage and continue to the arrival hall where you will find hostesses with Red Hat sign and fedora.

There are frequent shuttles arranged until midnight between PCC and the hotels further than 5 min walking distance away (Park Inn, Panorama, Barcelo, Aquapalace).
