We’re excited to share that Red Hat has just been named by Business Insider as one of “The 25 Best Tech Companies to Work for in 2013.” The list was compiled using information gathered from Glassdoor.com, a free jobs and career community where employees and job seekers can provide anonymous information about different companies.

Red Hat ranked 18th on the “Best Tech Companies to Work for in 2013” list, with a company rating of 3.9 (out of 5.0). Jim Whitehurst, Red Hat’s president and CEO, received an approval rating of 97 percent. Red Hat was applauded for employee growth opportunities and management’s support of our open culture, which creates an inclusive and collaborative environment.

Business Insider’s list was based on a report released earlier in 2013 by Glassdoor.com, which included only companies that received at least 25 reviews from past and present employees between June 26, 2012 and June 25, 2013, plus at least 15 reviews during the 12 months prior to that. CEO approval ratings were based on current CEOs with at least 20 reviews between June 26, 2012 and June 25, 2013. Company ratings ranged from a score of 1.0 meaning very dissatisfied and a score of 5.0 meaning very satisfied.

This is not the first time Red Hat has been recognized as a top employer. Recently, Red Hat was named among “The Top 50 Best Places to Work” by Glassdoor.com and one of the “Most InDemand Employers” by LinkedIn.

Red Hat has ~5,700 employees and more than 80 offices in more than 30 countries worldwide. Visit www.redhat.com/jobs to learn more about current career opportunities at Red Hat.
