The IT landscape is in a period of rapid change. Architecture choices are becoming more important than ever allowing more opportunities for IT professionals who have deep, broad skills and knowledge. Developers now drive many IT decisions that once were the exclusive province of the corporate IT department. Many organizations are moving to a DevOps model (developer operations) of software development, testing, and deployment. Use of private, public, and hybrid cloud infrastructures is increasing and the bare-metal, on-premise datacenter remains a commonplace, appropriate model for many organizations.
