All the world's fastest supercomputers now run Linux, so it's no surprise that the US Department of Energy's Summit supercomputer at Oak Ridge National Laboratories runs Linux. The open nature of Red Hat Enterprise Linux allows Oak Ridge researchers to keep pace with the high-performance computing innovations in the Linux kernel while retaining a level of stability and support required for running mission-critical workloads.

This new platform is expected to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and provide better analytics—and ultimately, a better customer experience.
