We’re pleased to announce that JBoss Developer Studio 4 is now available, featuring added support for JavaServer Faces (JSF) 2.0 and a technical preview of Java Contexts and Dependency Injection (CDI). JBoss Developer Studio is now even easier to access and freely available to download at devstudio.jboss.com/download.

Based on Eclipse 3.6 Helios, JBoss Developer Studio 4 features:

  • Support for JSF 2.0 Visual Page Editor

  • A technical preview of CDI functionality supporting JSR-299 for Java EE 6

  • Added support for JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform 5.1, including the Teiid and Modeshape projects

  • New JAX-WS and JAX-RS testing tools, adding out-of-the-box endpoint testing to increase developer productivity

JBoss Developer Studio 4 is a standalone version and can be used with both JBoss Community projects and JBoss Enterprise Middleware. JBoss Developer Studio -- Portfolio Edition (PE) is still available and unlike the free version, provides access to JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 5 and several JBoss and Red Hat solutions, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux and JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform.
