As we kick off 2018, Red Hat is proud to announce that we are making a donation to the Shelton Leadership Center in honor of General H. Hugh Shelton’s (U.S. Army Retired) years of service to the company. General Shelton served on Red Hat’s board of directors for more than 14 years, seven of those as chairman. During his time at Red Hat, he provided leadership and direction that guided us through exciting milestones and helped us grow to a $2 billion, +11,000 associate organization.

Part of his alma mater, North Carolina State University, the Shelton Leadership Center was founded in 2002 to help develop the next generation of values-based leaders. To honor his legacy, the $1 million donation will support the center’s outreach and scholarship programs within NC State University, as well as in corporate, governmental, educational, non-profit and youth development organizations. The values General Shelton champions and hopes to instill in the next generation are the same values he brought to Red Hat - honesty, integrity, diversity, compassion, and social responsibility.

We are proud to support the Shelton Leadership Center and are grateful for General Shelton’s  years of leadership and contributions to Red Hat.
