Building on the success of our Education Meet Up in September, we would like to extend an invitation to a wider Education Sector audience, to join Red Hat and a number of higher education institutions for a technology focused roundtable workshop event.
The aim of this workshop is for attendees to discuss the topics of most interest to them and theirs peers; discover which technologies can provide most value to higher education, who is using them, and what benefits they are reaping.
What are the hot technologies and most talked about innovations? Are they delivering all they promise? And how can they be leveraged in the budget-constrained Education Sector in a cost effective and efficient way, providing real time value and return on investment.
Below are suggested topics for discussion, based on feedback from the meet up in September, however upon registration you will be able to submit your own discussion ideas.
- Automate your world: How can Ansible Core/Tower automate IT workloads and be useful for the Higher Education community
- Containerise your applications: How to take applications from legacy systems to a modern conterised platform, and the automated world of OpenShift.
- Optimise your public cloud: How to optimise cloud workloads, across local datacentres and public cloud providers such as Microsoft Azure and AWS
- Supported Open Source: How supported Open Source can prove to be more cost effective than pure community
It was great to see many from different universities in our first meeting. It was truly useful to be able to share ideas and discuss challenges we face. I feel there could be chances to work collaboratively between universities in the future. I look forward to continue our discussion in the next meeting.
