University of Alabama at Birmingham expands research storage with Red Hat

Researchers at University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) struggled to complete data-intensive work, such as engineering and molecular modeling, due to limited storage availability. To reduce data storage costs and improve capacity and performance, the university's IT department deployed Red Hat® Ceph Storage running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux®. With the new storage offering, researchers can access cost-effective storage that can scale on demand to support their current work and new research opportunities.
