Among 2020’s biggest buzzwords—unprecedented, pivotal, virtual—one emerged as a defining factor of Red Hat’s success amidst the chaos: resilience. Earlier this month, our President and CEO Paul Cormier outlined our path for 2021, which is built upon the resilience of our people and technology. We are proud to be able to highlight some of these aspects of our company and the recent accolades they’ve received from the industry.
Red Hatters and Red Hat products have helped our clients weather the chaos, and there’s no slowing down. Since our last Awards Round Up, our innovations and innovators have received more than 20 accolades from industry publications and organizations.
The 2021 DEVIES Award winners were announced in the weeks leading up to DeveloperWeek 2021, which is an event that puts the spotlight on new technologies. Winners across more than 30 DevTech categories were selected. Red Hat cinched the win for Best API Infrastructure: Red Hat Integration.
Red Hat was among the 25 software companies named by CRN as the Hottest Edge Software Companies of 2020. CRN notes that the recognized companies are playing a critical role in executing real-time data analytics and machine learning for organizations of all sizes.
Channel Partner Insight provides analysis of the channel sector in Europe and the US. This category recognizes companies that have demonstrated their ability to help channel partners build and grow their cloud revenues in 2019/2020. Red Hat is proud to receive the Cloud Innovation Award.
Additionally, Ernest Jones, Red Hat’s vice president of North America Commercial Partners and Alliances, was honored as New Channel Chief of the Year. This award recognizes a technology channel chief who has made an impact in a short time and has shown an exceptional understanding of the value of an indirect strategy. Since joining Red Hat in March 2020, Jones has been responsible for the development of strategic relationships across the Red Hat partner ecosystem. The Stratus Awards, hosted by the Business Intelligence Group, celebrates companies and individuals that provide differentiated cloud offerings. Red Hat OpenStack took home the top prize in the Infrastructure-as-a-Service category. Additionally, Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes (RHACM) took home a Stratus Award in the Cloud Computing: Kubernetes category. RHACM builds on Red Hat’s commitment to delivering enterprise-ready open source solutions by delivering built-in policy driven automation for security, governance and multi-cluster and application lifecycle management for OpenShift deployments.
In its 2020 Cloud Excellence Awards, Computing recognized the best of the UK's cloud industry in categories covering aspects of the cloud from both vendor and customer angles. Not only was Red Hat honored as the Cloud Vendor of the Year, but Red Hat Enterprise Linux also won the Hybrid Cloud Product of the Year. Red Hat was also Highly Commended in the Cloud Integration Product of the Year category. One judge had this to say about Red Hat: “The winner, rightly, continues to be lauded for its commitment to supporting innovation across the IT industry.”
Tech professionals, buyers, marketers and analysts rely on IT Central Station’s in depth peer reviews to compare and select the best software and services. IT Central Station’s Peer Awards rank the world’s best tech products based on authentic, timely reviews from verified reviewers. Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform received two Peer Awards in Configuration Management and Release Automation, based entirely on customer sentiment, showcasing the result of Red Hat’s customer-centric mindset.
2020 Global Telecoms Awards
The Global Telecoms Awards (GLOTEL AWARDS) recognize innovation and excellence from any company involved in advancing and transforming today’s telecoms industry. Red Hat was highly commended in the Most Innovative Cloud Technology category.
Red Hat Denmark DC has been named a “Gazelle” company by Danish business media Børsen. The Gazelle prize is awarded to companies that produce consecutive positive growth in revenue or gross profit over the last four years and has more than doubled the revenue or the gross profit in the period. The selection is made by Greens Institute of Market Research, and the criteria are based on data from the Danish Commerce and Companies Agency.
For more than 20 years, the Banking Technology Awards have recognized financial services IT excellence and innovation worldwide. Red Hat is proud to have been shortlisted in the Best Open Banking Solution category.
As an open source software company, transparency doesn’t just describe our approach to enterprise software, it’s at the heart of how we operate. The Org recognized Red Hat as one of the world’s most transparent companies in 2020. Companies made it on this list for being transparent in the way they operate, in aspects around people, strategy, culture, and more. Red Hat’s internal memo-list was highlighted as one of the ways we encourage great ideas within our organization.
HR Asia is a publication for HR professionals. Its awards recognize corporations with high levels of employee engagement and excellent workplace cultures.
The SuperNova Awards honors successful business transformation efforts. Cheryl Coleman, Red Hat’s Digital Adoption Implementation manager, was announced the winner of the Future of Work - Employee Experience category. Coleman led Red Hat IT’s two-fold solution that consisted of forming our Transformation Center of Excellence and investing in a digital adoption platform, WalkMe, and layering it across 10+ applications to ensure Red Hat associates can effectively leverage our technology stack.
Best in Biz Awards winners include companies and individuals across all industries, from retail to banking. Each year, the awards are judged by top reporters and editors from respected publications. Laurie Krebs, Red Hat’s senior vice president and chief financial officer, received a silver award in the Finance Executive of the Year category.
As a part of the New York edition of the Women in IT Awards, Red Hat received two honors. High-achievers, advocates and role models across the US tech sector are recognized as a part of the Women in IT Awards. The Women in IT Summit & Awards initiative works to change the statistics of women in the tech workforce.
Co.Lab was recognized as E-skills Initiative of the Year. According to the award website, “Co.Lab stood out to our judges as it is a learning experience that introduces young students to the power of collaboration, community, and open source. With the use of open hardware and methodologies, Red Hat’s mentors teach students why being “open” is a better way to work together and a more effective way to solve problems.”
The Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 team led by senior vice president Stephanie Chiras, was also shortlisted in the IT Team of the Year (led by a woman) category.
Human Capital Management research and analyst firm Brandon Hall Group recognized solutions that resulted in substantial benefit to business and the human capital management functions. The Red Hat Learning Community was honored in the Best Advance in Social Learning Technology category. The Red Hat Learning Community surpassed 50,000 members last year, staying true to one goal of providing a collaborative space for open source learners to connect as they optimize their skills in working with Red Hat products.
