We are proud to announce that our film, "Road to A.I.," has been selected as an official entry in The Block Film & Art Festival and the 2017 Alexandria Film Festival.

The “Road to A.I.” documentary film asks some of the most crucial questions facing the transportation and technology industries as we shift to a more autonomous future. How is artificial intelligence being programmed to make decisions we can live with? Can sharing data make self-driving cars safer? Once seen as purely science fiction, self-driving cars are becoming more than a vision for the future; they are becoming a reality. But with this new technology comes questions about safety.

The film features luminaries from the world of artificial intelligence including: Chris Nicholson, CEO of Skymind; Liam Paull, founder of Duckietown; Karl Iagnemma, CEO and co-founder of nuTonomy; Mary “Missy” Cummings, professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Duke University; and Francois Chollet, A.I. researcher and author of Keras, a leading deep learning framework for Python.

Part of Red Hat’s Open Source Stories film series, “Road to A.I.” is our fourth installment to highlight and share human-centered stories about how openness can be a catalyst for change. Open source can change the world in many different ways - from technology innovation and management advancements to innovations across sectors. Red Hat has long understood the power of collaboration. With Open Source Stories, we are working to shine a light on some of those stories.

The Block Film and Art Festival takes place every year on a single block that is home to four historic theatres. The block serves as the nucleus for dozens of interactive film screenings, a music stage, local business hosted galleries and bands, outdoor art installations and vast-topic educational sessions over two days. The Block Film and Art Festival took place Oct. 6-7, 2017, in Logan, Utah.

The Alexandria Film Festival brings high-quality short and feature length films, documentaries, filmmaker panels, and arts presentations to the historic port city of Alexandria, Va. The festival is an intimate four-day celebration of film in Old Town Alexandria, near Washington, D.C. The Festival highlights the talents of local, national, and international filmmakers. The Alexandria Film Festival will be held Nov. 9–12, 2017.
