We are excited to share that Red Hat was named to CRN's 2015 Virtualization 50 List for the second time in three years, recognized as a technology vendor to watch as more sections of the datacenter are virtualized, including server and storage virtualization, along with software-defined networking.
CRN editors selected 50 vendors that are helping customers and partners to virtualize more of their datacenter environment by integrating new software and services with existing business processes, legacy hardware and software investments. The list is designed to help solution providers identify and evaluate virtualization solutions that enable them to modernize their datacenters while leveraging existing investments and building a foundation for the future.
In February, Red Hat released Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.5, featuring standardized virtualization features that enable IT organizations to service traditional virtualization workloads as well as highly flexible cloud-enabled workloads built on OpenStack. Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization is an enterprise ready open source virtualization solution that inherits the capabilities of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and the Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM). KVM is the predominantly deployed hypervisor for the OpenStack cloud computing platform (1). Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization is deployed across major global verticals including media, healthcare, airline and electronics manufacturing. In its article, CRN said:
Red Hat continues to be a major force in the virtualization market, challenging VMware with Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization and building a strong software-defined storage presence. The company has recently introduced Linux-ready containers, as well as unified storage, bringing together its Ceph and Gluster technologies.
