IDEAS WORTH EXPLORING

Come with questions. Leave with ideas.

Open source is collaborative curiosity. It’s about a culture with a desire to connect and the technologies to do it. Yet what draws our attention isn’t the technology alone; it’s what we can do with it. It gives us the platform for imagination, a focal point to collectively push for new possibilities.

Automation, AI, machine learning--these are gifts we gave ourselves the luxury of reclaimed time to wonder. To ask not only “What if?” but also “What for?” and “With whom?”.

Red Hat Forums are the place for these questions, a gathering of the curious, an arena of ideas to reinvent what we have and to dream of what we might. So join us in Bangkok - come with questions, leave with ideas.

Look forward to:

  • Keynote presentations on industry trends
  • Detailed technological implementation sessions
  • Conversational sessions with industry experts
  • Learning from customer references
  • Live demos

Digital Transformation and the Open Organization

Timothy Howard will discuss the realities of digitization and business disruption today, and explain how Red Hat, as a leading Linux and open source provider for enterprise organizations, embraces rapid change and builds better software through broad collaboration. We’ll look at our modern, open approach to leadership, and what this means for those trying to plan and execute on today’s technology vision. We’ll talk with one or more local customers to understand their journey, and offer advice for those seeking the same success.

BigPharm Morphs into a Digitally Transformed Business

Join us at the Red Hat Forum where you will hear about a fictional company - ‘BigPharma’ - that needs to digitally transform. Hear how an acquisition enables them to modernize their IT Infrastructure, while taking the journey to a digitally transformed business, better equipped to compete in their market. Based on the same business and technology challenges that face many organizations today - you’ll get first hand experience on how this mature company acquires an upstart business; becomes competitive; and races ahead of their competition.

See how they are able to fund this critical work, and the challenges and market realizations that BigPHarma experiences - not unlike many organizations today.

Build a Hybrid Cloud and Paint It Red

Cloud is the new norm. Enterprise customers need to use private and public cloud solutions to become more agile and competitive. However, it is still challenging to build hybrid cloud architectures for the majority of customers.Core applications are running on legacy systems and architectures. The cloud is a solution to modernizing your applications and infrastructure. CIOs now have a cloud strategy, many with a cloud first policy. However, IT organizations have old tools and are not fully virtualized. IT does not have data, open, hybrid, or other, policies for the cloud. IT doesn’t have the talent or experience to consume open source: the engine for innovation. Developers have fully deployed applications to production in a public cloud, and public cloud spending is impacting infrastructure budgets.

This session will talk about the business factors, the technology challenges, solutions, and the implementation experience moving to cloud.

The Automation Journey: Red Hat Management

IT operations management is important regardless your organization's stage on the journey to DevOps. Whether you're struggling to improve management for your traditional environment, are fully cloud-native, or anywhere in between, Red Hat Management solutions like Red Hat Ansible Automation are key to achieving greater efficiency, productivity, and agility.

IT Transformation with Containers and DevOps

The convergence of cloud, containers, AI, automation, and open source is rapidly transforming IT operations technologies, best practices, and skills. DevOps proves to be a game-changer for enterprise IT departments wanting flexibility and speed in supporting their product development teams. In this session, we will discuss enterprise challenges and the impact of DevOps on the business, plus why leadership should be a key aspect of their strategy.

How to Fund Your IT Innovation

Red Hat’s Infrastructure Migration Solution can help organizations accelerate their digital transformation journey without increasing their costs, allowing them to invest in transformative technologies such as containers, automation, and multi-cloud management by lowering the cost of their existing infrastructure investments.

The solution achieves this by analyzing the cost of the existing infrastructure and providing an alternative virtualization platform for both new growth and existing workloads. New workloads can be delivered on the alternative platform in an automated fashion with self-service ensuring IT can quickly recreate the workloads on future platforms, such as public clouds without a heavy burden. Existing workloads are then analyzed and migrated using a proven methodology to ensure all business requirements are satisfied for the workload, such as migrating within proper change control windows and having approvals from needed stakeholders.

Finally, the savings realized from the infrastructure migration, often 40-50% over the existing long-term commitment are used to accelerate adoption of technologies around multi-cloud management, automation, and containers.

Path to Cloud-Native Application Development: 8 Steps

As most organizations do not have the luxury of completely rebuilding their technology foundation or immediately adopting new practices and mindsets, they are embracing gradual yet fundamental shifts in culture, processes, and technology to support greater velocity and agility. With software increasingly key to how users engage with businesses and how businesses innovate to stay competitive, the speed of application development and delivery is the new digital business imperative. The cloud-native approach describes a way of modernizing existing applications and building new applications based on cloud principles, using services and adopting processes optimized for the agility and automation of cloud computing. In this session, we provide an 8-step roadmap to guide your cloud-native application journey.

API-centric Agile Integration: APIs to iPaaS

No industry is safe from being disrupted by nimble and fast moving new entrants. WhatsApp is a great example of a 50 person startup which almost wiped out the $33bn global SMS market of the Telco giants. Today's most important business capability is agility. Realizing business agility requires different infrastructure and capabilities. Agile Integration is an architectural approach that helps deliver faster and adaptable services.

Attend this session to learn about API-centric agile integration, Red Hat's agile integration products and customers who have embarked on this journey.

Using Process Automation Technology to Build Cloud-Native Business Applications

Business process automation is a way by which companies automate complex processes and streamline them for simplicity, improving the customer 's experience. With the new functionality of Red Hat Process Automation Manager, Red Hat is enabling business users in developing intelligent business automation apps using modern microservices architectures. Utilizing OpenShift, Red Hat is becoming the leader in providing containerized business automation for simple, scalable and secure deployment of decisioning and process automation apps.

Learn more from practical case studies on how companies such as BBVA, Aviva and Railinc are using new technologies - including cloud-native, containers, microservices, and case management to improve operational efficiency and automate complex processes.

Bring Your Business to the Cloud, 'N' Apps At A Time

Why modernization is no longer an option, and how with Red Hat you can:
- Analyze individual apps to find the best route for modernization for each of them
- Containerize to decouple existing apps from underlying infrastructure
- Replace expensive, proprietary components and custom code with open-source and community-backed, container-optimized alternatives
- Gradually move from monolithic to microservices-based architecture
