Key Topics
Red Hat commits to transforming our partner and customer's business with technology and technology with business. Red Hat Tech Exchange is the answer on how we embark on that journey with our customers and partners. This year takes our transformation strategy towards Open Hybrid Cloud, focusing on 3 strategic technology pillars;
- Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure
- Cloud Native Development
- Management & Automation
Red Hat's only annual technology conference is not to be missed, given it's successful 8th run targeting technical professionals by providing the latest technology updates, trends, knowledge and skills in information technology. The conference provides a switchboard for partners to connect and exchange experiences, ideas and knowledge with Red Hat's associates.
Attendees will expect to see the conference's content framework focusing on Open Hybrid Cloud strategy, winning the platforms at its’ core, attaching portfolio to platforms and extending platforms to multi-cloud delivering hybrid cloud business models. Approximately 50% of the conference is aimed at Red Hat associates and partners working together via technical hands-on labs, hackathons and workshops, with the rest focusing on hearing the latest and greatest in technologies, roadmaps, customers stories and panel discussions.
To help our partners make an informed decision in investing their technical professionals to our once in a year technology conference with Red Hat, below is an updated draft of the content direction. The list below is not an exhaustive list and will be subjected to change but we hope it provides a perspective on the key focused areas we are undertaking, as the conference committee is still in progress identifying more relevant topics and content to bring the best event for you.

Breakout Session | Presentation | How to Demo Insights and Cloud Management Services | "An Operator is a method of packaging, deploying and automating the complete lifecycle management activities of a Kubernetes application. Put more simply, an Operator encodes human operational knowledge. It is designed to watch and respond to the resources in your cluster and enable your application to run as desired.
While powerful, Operators are usually written in Go by software developers that have a deep understanding of how to write K8s controllers using advanced libraries and patterns. Enter Ansible. Ansible is a first class citizen in the Operator SDK providing a means of automating the deployment and management of Kubernetes applications on a cluster in an Ansible-native way. Ansible-based Operators provide a lower barrier to entry, faster iterations, and the power of Ansible and its ecosystem. Combining Ansible and Kubernetes frees up application engineers to minimize the new skill sets required to maximize time to delivery. Furthermore, using the same tried and trusted Ansible tooling lets you automate and orchestrate your applications across both new and existing platforms allowing with one simple language. This talk introduces Operators with Ansible and demonstrates how you develop and deploy them to automate the management of a Kubernetes application on a cluster." |

CodeReady Workspaces will be a choice for toolset as the individual developer workspaces.
The development teams expect the toolsets are provisioned in their environments quickly and easily. Additionally, the toolset environment itself should have cloud native features, because the environment should be customizable and scalable based on the requirements of development teams. In this session, we talk about how to design development environment architecture supporting various types of application development projects, like AMM project and microservices project. We also talk about the implementations for OpenShift environment using Ansible and Operator Framework. |
