Cloud Deployment with Red Hat OpenStack Platform 12 Director

Red Hat OpenStack Platform 12 introduces a major change in the implementation of OpenStack: most OpenStack services now run inside containers. Red Hat OpenStack Platform 12 director is the first release to support containerized cloud deployment. This course is a technical update for those who are already familiar with previous versions of Red Hat OpenStack Platform. While the core OpenStack components were updated in Red Hat OpenStack Platform 12, there are no drastic changes, so this course focuses on the changes related to containerized cloud deployment.

This is a lab-based course that guides students through the workflow for Red Hat OpenStack Platform director, starting from the undercloud installation to the working overcloud. Students explore the internal architecture of containers running OpenStack services and mechanisms for passing configuration parameters to containers and accessing logs. The lab environment is created on demand in a cloud and represents a data center infrastructure typically used for OpenStack deployment.
