Fortune - 2018 Best Workplaces for Parents and Best Workplaces in Technology
Red Hat has been ranked number 27 on Fortune’s 50 best workplaces for parents. To determine the list, Fortune partnered with the people analytics firm, Great Place to Work, to compare parents' and non-parents' survey feedback representing more than 5 million US employees on more than 60 survey questions anonymously rating their employers. The analysis focused on parents' overall feedback, looking at how their experiences compared to that of their colleagues, whether job level or other personal characteristics changed the level of support received as a parent, and assessing the quality of parental leave, adoption, flexible schedule, child care and dependent health care benefits. Red Hat is honored to be on this list, and is committed to providing the best possible workplace experience for both mothers and fathers. We are excited to be named number five in large companies on the Fortune Best Workplaces in Technology. As stated by Red Hat employees “Red Hat has a very unique culture and embraces the open source/community driven model not just as our development model but also as our business model in which everyone is encouraged to contribute to the organization.”

The jobs offered had to be remote-friendly, either allowing for candidates to telecommute entirely or part of the time. Remote jobs in sales have increased, surpassing education as the third most represented career field on the list. The healthcare and computer/IT industries continue to offer the most remote-friendly jobs, with sales and customer service remote jobs also in high demand. Overall, these 100 companies represent more than 15 industries and are headquartered across 11 different countries. At Red Hat, we believe in hiring the right person for the right job, regardless of location.
