Attendees of Red Hat Summit looking for in-depth training on-site can add Power Training to their registration. These two-day, interactive courses provide accelerated training with expert instructors at a special rate. Attendees taking advantage of Power Training will receive access to Red Hat Training and Certification curriculum advisors, a Power Training cocktail hour and reception with Red Hat technical leaders, and a 30-day Red Hat Learning Subscription.

The following Power Training courses are being offered this year:

  • Introduction to Containers, Kubernetes, and OpenShift Container Platform: Build core knowledge and skills through hands-on experience in managing containers, which are critical to DevOps transformation. In this power training course you will learn how to containerize software applications, employ container technologies in software architecture, and use Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift.

  • Containerizing Applications with OpenShift: Develop an understanding of containerizing applications specifically for deployment on Kubernetes using Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, in this power training session designed for enterprise application developers and site reliability engineers.

  • Hands-on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 Exploration: Become well-versed in the changes and new features included in the recent distribution of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8. This offering is designed for Linux system administrators, DevOps engineers, cloud administrators and other experienced IT professionals.

  • Red Hat Performance Tuning: Linux in Physical, Virtual and Cloud: Learn about system architecture and its implications on system and network performance and adjustments; open source benchmarking; and tuning configurations for specific server use cases and workloads. This offering is designed for senior Linux administrators who are responsible for maximizing resource utilization through performance tuning.

  • Red Hat Satellite 6 Administration: In this power training session you will learn how to install REd Hat Satellite 6 on a server and populate it with software packages, as part of successful large-scale management of Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems. This offering is designed for senior Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administrators who are responsible for the management of multiple servers.

  • Red Hat System Administration III: Linux Administration: Receive a comprehensive introduction to Ansible Automation and learn to write code that automates the management and configuration of systems. This offering is designed for Linux system administrators, DevOps engineers, infrastructure automation engineers and systems design engineers. The curriculum is geared toward those responsible for application deployment, DevOps integration, configuration management, and server provisioning and deployment.

  • Microsoft Windows Automation with Red Hat Ansible: Learn the fundamentals of how to write and run Ansible Playbooks in a Windows environment, using Visual Studio Code to prepare projects and store them in a Git version control system and Red Hat Ansible Tower to centrally manage and run automation tasks. This offering is designed for Windows Server professionals without previous Ansible experience.

  • Advanced Automation: Exploring Ansible Tower: In this power training session you will learn to manage complex deployments and speed productivity through sophisticated understanding of common automation tasks, recommended best practices, and Red Hat Ansible Tower. This offering is designed for DevOps engineers, Linux systems administrators, developers, and release engineers. The curriculum is geared for IT professionals who need to set recommended design patterns and operate automation practices at scale.

Attendees can only add one Power Training course, as each course is two days in length and attendance on both days is necessary for course completion. The schedule is as follows:

  • Day 1: Sunday, April 26 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. PST

  • Day 2: Monday, April 27 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. PST

In addition to the training courses, we are also offering Red Hat certification opportunities. Red Hat certifications are among the most highly regarded in the IT industry and mean you have proven your skills by passing a performance-based test of real-world tasks. The following certification exams are being offered at Red Hat Summit this year:

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator exam: The performance-based RHCSA exam tests your knowledge and skill in areas of system administration common across a wide range of environments and deployment scenarios. An RHCSA certification is earned when an IT professional demonstrates the core system-administration skills required in Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration exam: This exam tests the knowledge, skills, and ability to create, configure, and manage a cloud application platform using Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. By passing this exam, you become a Red Hat Certified Specialist, which also counts toward becoming a Red Hat Certified Architect.

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in Advanced Automation: Ansible Best Practices exam: This exam is a performance-based test of your knowledge and skill in managing multiple systems using Red Hat Ansible Engine and Red Hat Ansible Tower. By passing this exam, you become a Red Hat Certified Specialist in Advanced Automation: Ansible Best Practices, which also counts toward becoming a Red Hat Certified Architect. This exam is based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.0, Red Hat Ansible 2.8, and Red Hat Ansible Tower 3.5.

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) exam for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8: The performance-based Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) exam for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 tests your knowledge and skill in managing multiple systems using Red Hat Ansible Engine and executing common system administration tasks across a number of systems with Ansible. The skills tested in this exam are the foundation for system administration across many Red Hat products. By passing this exam, you become an RHCE, which also counts toward becoming a Red Hat Certified Architect. This exam is based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and Red Hat Ansible Engine 2.8.
