Red Hat Process Automation Manager for OpenShift

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Red Hat Process Automation Manager for OpenShift brings powerful business process management services to Red Hat OpenShift, a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution. Users can provision their OpenShift accounts with process services, powered by Red Hat Process Automation Manager, directly from the OpenShift console to rapidly deploy process-based applications and microservices. In addition, a Red Hat Process Automation Manager for OpenShift subscription includes full access to the design tools of Red Hat Process Automation Manager, such as easy-to-use authoring tools for process models, decision tables, decision trees, scorecards, and a guided rules editor.

FEATURES

Red Hat Process Automation Manager for OpenShift contains the run-time services, intelligent process server, real-time decision server, and resource planning server from Red Hat Process Automation Manager, packaged into Linux® containers. It is fully compatible with OpenShift and all environments that support Linux containers. OpenShift users can provision their accounts with process, decision, and planning services simply by checking a box in their OpenShift console.

Users typically develop and test their projects in a separate Red Hat Process Automation Manager installation and then transfer the projects to Red Hat Process Automation Manager for OpenShift for execution.

Red Hat Process Automation Manager lets project stakeholders collaborate to build sophisticated business automation solutions. A rich set of easy-to-use tools for process and decision management covers the full process life cycle — from modeling, simulation, and testing to deployment, monitoring, and optimization. Process and decision logic can be modeled and automated together, without the need to learn multiple tools or develop custom integrations between disparate environments.

The process service included in Red Hat Process Automation Manager for OpenShift is based on the jBPM JBoss community project and supports native BPMN 2.0 execution with extensions for dynamic case management workflows. A task service compliant with the WS-HumanTask specification is provided for tasks that need to be human-performed. The service also provides a comprehensive RESTful API for managing and executing business processes.

BENEFITS

Red Hat Process Automation Manager for OpenShift saves developers time by providing access to business process services directly within the OpenShift environment. Provisioning an OpenShift account with process services simply requires checking a checkbox on the OpenShift console — with no download, installation, or configuration required.

As a result, developers can rapidly build sophisticated process logic into their applications without extensive coding, making it easier to maintain and modify business logic as business needs change.
