5G deployments will rely on a cloud-native and microservices-based architecture to connect massive Internet of Things (IoT), low latency, or enhanced mobile broadband services. These services, located in centralized datacenters, distributed edge computing platforms, mobile devices, and operational controls, will be used for management and orchestration. Without the proper security features for infrastructure, workloads, and users in containerized environments, computing environments may be subject to rogue and malicious code deployments, unauthorized access, and other security hazards.

Passionate about security, François leads the network function virtualization security domain and is Red Hat’s technical interface to the National Cybersecurity Agency of France (ANSSI). He recently contributed to the OpenShift® Security Guide book. Before Red Hat, he spent more than 15 years contributing to network evolution, specifically focusing on cloud platforms.

Pramod Nair

Technical Solutions Architect, Cisco

Pramod is a 20-year telecom industry veteran who spent the most recent seven years working for Cisco Systems. As a Security Consulting Systems Engineer on the Service Provider Architecture team, Pramod delivers on Cisco's plan to enhance security in the service provider space with his combined acumen in radio networks, mobile packet core, edge computing, virtualization, and security. Most recently, Pramod has been in discussions with service providers about 5G security architecture, and he was also invited to speak at universities about a range of security-related topics.

Abdelnor Tafer

Technical Solutions Architect, EMEAR Telco Cloud Architecture Lead, Cisco

Abdelnor is a technical solutions architect in the Cisco Data Center Sales Specialists organisation. For the last 18 years, he has been working at Cisco, specialising in mobility and more recently on telco cloud architecture (virtualization, OpenStack, Kubernetes, ETSI NFV/MANO, MEC, hybrid cloud).

For more than eight years, Abdelnor has been working with several of the largest tier-1 service providers across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia who are transforming their business and their operating model using cloud technologies.
