This talk will cover the struggles making Docker Containers work well with Systemd. We will discuss getting systemd functions like sd_notify, socket activation, cgroup propogation working in a container. The talk will describe how to get docker to use journald for logging containers.
Docker made it simple to run a single process in a Linux container. We often have quick success getting something like Apache or MySQL running in a docker container, especially if it's part of an application being built from scratch.
The Container Development Kit (CDK) is a Vagrant VM with Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift Enterprise (OSE) pre-installed and setup for use by developers. The CDK is easily available to anyone with a Red Hat Developer Suite subscription and can get you going on Docker or OpenShift in minutes.
Containers are promising to dramatically improve both the efficiency and agility of enterprise IT. Examples of their early success are arriving from all areas of the datacenter and the cloud. Join this session to hear from several Red Hat customers who've experienced success with containers.
