Red Hat® Certificate of Expertise in Atomic Host Container Administration exam (EX270) is a performance-based exam that tests your ability to configure and manage a Red Hat Enterprise Linux® Atomic Host environment.

By passing this exam, you earn a Red Hat Certificate of Expertise certification, which counts toward earning a Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA).

This exam is based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Atomic Host 7.

In preparation

Red Hat recommends that candidates earn Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE®) or, at a minimum, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), before attempting this exam, but these designations are not required.

Study points for the exam

To help you prepare, the exam objectives highlight the task areas you can expect to see covered in the exam. Red Hat reserves the right to add, modify, and remove exam objectives. Such changes will be made public in advance.

Candidates should be able to:

  • Perform upgrades re-bases, and rollbacks.
  • Create and manage Docker container images.
  • Publish custom container images to a private repository.
  • Deploy multi-tiered applications using a single container.
  • Deploy multi-tiered applications using multiple containers.
  • Perform container backups.
  • Dockerize a third-party application.
  • Debug Red Hat Enterprise Linux Atomic Host issues.

As with all Red Hat performance-based exams, configurations must persist after reboot without intervention.

Preparation

Many books and other resources on system administration for Red Hat's products are available. Red Hat does not endorse these preparation guides for any exams. Nevertheless, you may find additional reading helpful to deepen your understanding.

Exam format

This exam is a performance-based evaluation of a candidate’s ability to use Red Hat Enterprise Linux Atomic Host to deploy and manage container-based applications. Candidates will be required to install and configure Red Hat Enterprise Linux Atomic Host systems and then deploy existing container-based applications on those systems. Candidates will be evaluated on whether they have met specific objective criteria.

Scores and reporting

Official scores for exams come exclusively from Red Hat Certification Central. Red Hat does not authorize examiners or training partners to report results to candidates directly. Scores on the exam are usually reported within three U.S. business days.

Exam results are reported as total scores. Red Hat does not report performance on individual items, nor will it provide additional information upon request.
