Manx Telecom’s Data Centre solutions are customer-driven to address the specific services and business needs of its end clients. Manx Telecom works tirelessly with each of its customers to ensure the platform, operating systems, and performance of the managed services it provides continually meet the technical and commercial needs of their business.

Manx Telecom has used Red Hat Enterprise Linux since the inception of its hosting services division and has gradually experienced more and more of the benefits of open source, not least of which is its high availability. There has also been an increase in demand for open source solutions from its customers.

Manx Telecom’s Data Centre was recently awarded a prestigious contract that includes the development, deployment, and management of a leading-edge geographically diverse Managed Service Platform for a leading global online payment solutions provider and regulated e-money issuer. Utilising the latest in SAN replication technology, this multi vendor hardware and software platform is heavily reliant on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advanced Platform and its included clustering and file system capabilities.

“Having provided managed service platform solutions to the customer for over five years, we were approached to develop and implement a high-availability platform that would scale to meet the ever changing demands on our customers business and would be a catalyst for the delivery of new products and services across their group,” said Stephen Kane, e-Gaming & e-Business Development Manager, Manx Telecom.

As Manx Telecom’s customers operate global businesses in a variety of markets with stringent customer SLA’s of their own, one of the key differentiators in the selection of Red Hat Enterprise Linux was excellent 24×7 global support. Furthermore, Manx Telecom’s Enterprise Hosting Division continually seeks to develop its hands-on skills and vendor accreditations. Having recently completed Red Hat Training courses, including onsite customised training labs and material, the feedback was very positive, with many of Manx Telecom’s engineers commenting that “it was the best training course they have ever attended.”
