Red Hat launched the Open Source Stories film series last year to highlight and share human-centered stories about how openness is a catalyst for change. Rooted in the open source values and philosophies of meritocracy, community building, and transparency that open source communities and Red Hat holds dear, Open Source Stories films feature organizations and individuals who are making "open" the default 21st-century innovation model.
With that, we're excited to share that the Open Source Stories film, “e-NABLE: Open Technology, Faster Progress," recently won Best Documentary at the 12th annual West Chester Film Festival, an annual festival that celebrates independent, short, and international films.
E-NABLE is a global community collaborating and using open source technology to design, fabricate, and distribute free, 3d-printed prosthetic hands to underserved populations. The Open Source Stories film about e-NABLE highlights their pioneering and life-changing work in prosthetic devices, and shows the impact a community can have when they default to open. We're thrilled and honored by the recognition the film received at the West Chester Film Festival.
Watch the Open Source Stories film on e-NABLE, or our other powerful Open Source Stories, and help us spread the word about the impact of 'open' on all aspects of society.
