Red Hat Satellite 6.13.2 has been released

We are pleased to announce that Red Hat Satellite 6.13.2 is generally available as of July 12, 2023.

Red Hat Satellite is an infrastructure management solution designed to provision and maintain any Red Hat Enterprise Linux infrastructure - physical, virtual, cloud and edge environments. Satellite streamlines provisioning, patching and other repetitive system management tasks to increase efficiency while keeping systems secure, available and compliant.

The erratum for this release includes:

• https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2023:4044 

Customers who have already upgraded to Satellite 6.13 should follow the instructions in the errata. Customers who are on versions of Satellite prior to 6.13 should refer to the Upgrading and Updating Red Hat Satellite Guide. You may also want to consider using the Satellite Upgrade Helper if moving from Satellite 6.x to Satellite 6.13.

katello-agent deprecation reminder

katello-agent was deprecated in Satellite 6.7. We are planning on removing it completely from Satellite 6.15. In order to keep using remote execution, you can use REX push through SSH or you can configure REX pull mode before upgrading to 6.15. For more information on REX pull mode, please refer to this blog post.

• katello-agent was used for remote package actions
• Remote Execution Pull mode has been available since Satellite 6.12
• Remote Execution in SSH mode has been available since before Satellite 6.3

Customers who have received hotfixes should check the list of bugs fixed to confirm their hotfix is contained in the release before upgrading. Please reach out to Red Hat Support if you have applied a hotfix that doesn’t correspond to one of the bugs mentioned in the errata link(s) above to verify that you can apply the hotfix to Satellite 6.13.2.
