He is responsible for working with Microsoft and Red Hat engineering teams to ensure that SQL server performance, availability, and management is optimized on Red Hat platforms. For more than 30 years, Louis has worked in technical support, engineering, software architecture, and product management on a wide range of operating system, management, security, and storage software projects. He joined Red Hat as part of the acquisition of Permabit Technology Corporation, where he was Vice President of Product.

Bob Ward is a Principal Architect for the Microsoft Azure Data team, which owns the development for all Microsoft SQL Server versions. Bob has worked for Microsoft for over 27 years on every version of SQL Server shipped from OS/2 1.1 to SQL Server 2019, including Azure SQL. Bob is a well-known speaker on SQL Server and Azure SQL, often presenting talks on new releases, internals, and specialized topics at events such as Red Hat Summit, SQLBits, SQLIntersection, Microsoft Inspire, Microsoft Ignite, and many different virtual events. Bob is also the author of the books Pro SQL Server on Linux, SQL Server 2019 Revealed, and Azure SQL Revealed.
