I would say, that this depends on the VM host (CPU/cores, memory,
diskspeed, ...). Keep in mind, that you need space in the vm or a
mounted storage for the repositories.

Currently we run a spacewalk vm for +- 10 centos test servers, and it
performs quiet good.
