Paul Cormier

President and CEO, Red Hat

Paul Cormier is President and CEO of Red Hat, the world’s leading provider of open source enterprise IT software solutions and services. Before his current role, Cormier was President of Products and Technologies at Red Hat, having been with the company since 2001, driving major strategy shifts and expansion of the company’s portfolio of products and services. Under his leadership and with his experience in enterprise technology, He helped to pioneer a commercial business model for open source software, moving open source innovation from passionate communities to broad adoption from the datacenter to the cloud.

Cormier is credited with leading efforts to introduce an enterprise subscription model leading to the development of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. He pioneered the vision for one open hybrid cloud platform that could span traditional, on-premise hardware to multiple clouds. As part of this vision, he has been instrumental in forging strategic partnerships with many leading technology companies to enable technologies to work across hybrid enterprise IT environments and multiple clouds.

DeLisa Alexander

Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer, Red Hat

DeLisa Alexander is Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer of Red Hat. She leads the team responsible for global human resources including Red Hat University, focused on acquiring, developing, and retaining talent and enhancing Red Hat culture. During her tenure, Red Hat has grown from 1,100 to 14,000+ associates and has been recognized as one of the best places to work.

She serves as the chair of the Board of Directors for the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce; member Board of Directors for the Downtown Raleigh Alliance; and on the Board of Advisers for the Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise and Bull City Ventures.

Prior to Red Hat, Alexander worked at the law firm Kilpatrick Stockton and for the Chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery.

Stefanie Chiras

Vice President and General Manager, Red Hat Enterprise Linux Business Unit, Red Hat

Dr. Stefanie Chiras is the Vice President and General Manager of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux organization at Red Hat. The Red Hat Enterprise Linux organization is responsible for the successful definition, execution, and delivery of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Dr. Chiras’ organization sets the worldwide business standards and works in tandem with customers and partners to ensure Red Hat Enterprise Linux exceeds market demands.

As Vice President and General Manager of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux organization, Chiras drives an adaptive and collaborative approach to the strategic implementation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, from transforming customer deployments to delivering the technical foundation for the entire Red Hat portfolio. Her teams also enable engineering relationships and execution for the wide ecosystem of Red Hat partners.

Matt Hicks

Executive Vice President, Products and Technologies, Red Hat

Matt Hicks is the Executive Vice President of Products and Technologies at Red Hat. Hicks is responsible for engineering, product management, and product marketing for Red Hat technologies. Prior to this role, Hicks served as the SVP of Engineering, responsible for all product engineering, including products such as Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, the Red Hat JBoss Middleware portfolio, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.

Other areas of responsibility included Red Hat’s hosted services, OpenShift Online, OpenShift.io, and OpenShift Dedicated.

Joining Red Hat in 2005, Hicks has experienced its growth from a single product company to a multi-billion dollar enterprise and was one of the founding members of the OpenShift team.

Mona Sutphen

Former White House Deputy Chief of Staff
Former Managing Director, UBS AG

Ms. Sutphen has over 20 years’ experience advising multinational corporate, philanthropic and institutional investors on the intersection of geopolitics, policy and markets. Most recently, she was a Partner at Macro Advisory Partners (MAP), where she led the firm’s US practice advising clients on emerging risks and opportunities across a range of sectors including energy/environment, technology, trade, sanctions, national security, fiscal policy and the regulatory process, and the US political outlook. Prior to joining MAP, Ms. Sutphen was Managing Director at UBS AG, where she developed new tools for political risk evaluation impacting capital markets.

From 2009‐2011, she served as White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy for President Barack Obama, where she advanced the policy and regulatory agenda on a range of issues, including technology, telecom, trade, small business and housing / GSE reform. Previously, Ms. Sutphen was Managing Director at Stonebridge International, where she advised clients in the defense and financial services sectors. Earlier, she led regulatory strategy for Currenex, the first internet‐based institutional foreign exchange trading platform. She was a career diplomat for nearly 10 years (1991‐2000), serving on the staff of the National Security Council in the White House during the Clinton Administration, and the U.S. Mission to the UN, among other posts.

She also served on the president’s Intelligence Advisory Board and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Ms. Sutphen is an independent director for Pioneer Natural Resources, and serves on the boards of the International Rescue Committee and Human Rights First, as well as on the advisory board of the Center for Global Energy Policy at Columbia University. Ms. Sutphen is a Trustee of Mount Holyoke College, and co‐author of The Next American Century. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College, and a Master of Science from the London School of Economics.

Jim Whitehurst

President, IBM

Jim Whitehurst is the President of IBM. He is responsible for the IBM Cloud and Cognitive Software organization, and Corporate Strategy. He is an advocate for open principles as a catalyst for business innovation.

Prior to IBM, Whitehurst was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Red Hat. At Red Hat, Whitehurst grew its influence with key milestones—including becoming the first US$1 billion revenue open source software company in 2012 and most notably, the landmark acquisition of Red Hat by IBM for US$34 billion in 2019. Under his leadership, Red Hat was named to the Forbes World’s Most Innovative Companies list, and Barron’s named him one of the world’s best CEOs.

In 2015, Whitehurst published a book, "The Open Organization: Igniting Passion and Performance," showing how open principles of management can help organizations navigate and succeed in a fast-paced, connected era.

Prior to Red Hat, Whitehurst served as Chief Operating Officer at Delta Air Lines and as Partner at The Boston Consulting Group.
