Many people think that sendmail is very, very difficult to configure. Those who feel that way may find the coming versions of sendmail to be even more difficult. This document's purpose is to give the lie to that sentiment. We will begin with some discussion about what should be installed and where things are placed after the installation is complete.
As we discussed in Section 1, the Red Hat, Inc. distribution contains three binary and one source RPM for sendmail. These are:
Binary: sendmail-8.9.3-15.i386.rpm sendmail-cf-8.9.3-15.i386.rpm sendmail-doc-8.9.3-15.i386.rpm Source: sendmail-8.9.3-15.src.rpm |
For our purposes here you need to be sure that the three binary RPMs have been installed. Initially we will be working with the default installation. Then, we will gradually advance into more difficult topics.
