Lap Ki Lui

"The RHCE quickly helped me to be recognized as a Linux expert and has advanced my career to be a technical leader."

IT architect

Lap Ki Lui has been reaping the benefits of the Red Hat® Certified Engineer (RHCE®) program since his first certification in 2002. Lui is a security/IT architect at the IBM Toronto Software Development Laboratory in Canada. In this position he oversees security compliance activities, issues, and projects for over 1,600 UNIX/Windows systems. "The education and preparation for RHCE certification really helped me to significantly enhance my technical expertise on Red Hat Enterprise Linux® as well as Enterprise Linux Servers in general," said Lui. "Also, the hands-on examination demonstrates that I have 'real' experience and technical expertise. I'm not just studying a preparation guide and sample exams like with other certifications."

The recognition Lui has received since his RHCE certification is evidence of how the program helps an individual progress in the business world. "The RHCE quickly helped me to be recognized as a Linux expert and has advanced my career to be a technical leader," said Lui. "RHCE is one of the most precious certifications. It makes me stand out among IT professionals, demonstrating that I not only have expert knowledge, but practical skills as well."
