Support engineer

Luis Soto Miranda is a support engineer in a Chilean telecommunications company involved in Internet, telephony, and TV. He has seen that the Red Hat® Certified Engineer (RHCE®) program and Red Hat can give advantages to a Linux® user in the workplace. Soto's company was already Linux-based when he began his work there, but the RHCE-certified engineer was able to assist in the company's migration to Red Hat Enterprise Linux. "As a support engineer, my main function involves administering Internet servers and services that are to be provided to our subscribers and must be 100 percent operative round the clock," said Soto. "Migrating all of our services to Red Hat Enterprise Linux and seeing the reliability of the operating system introduced and led me to my interest in the RHCE program."

As a new RHCE, Soto is feeling the personal achievements from the program and knows that it's leading to company achievements as well. "Having RHCEs within your company creates an added value that otherwise would need to be outsourced. This has become an asset within our company and I look forward to seeing how the program helps me and our company grow in the future," said Soto.
