Pali Singh, the 2007 Red Hat® Certified Engineer (RHCE®) of the Year in EMEA, has been able to implement his RHCE skills in the education industry. Singh works for a UK-based company called RM, which is a leading supplier of software, hardware, and ISP services for the region's education market. "For years we have been using Red Hat solutions to deliver mail/proxy/webhosting/dns etc. services to schools," said Singh. "RM has recently won a large contract to deliver the world's largest nationwide single sign-on portal for educational users. I have been responsible for delivering the Red Hat component, choosing to implement the Red Hat Satellite Server in order to deliver bare metal to fully fledged, functional live production systems. This has been a significant step toward further embedding open source, and specifically Red Hat solutions, into our BAU culture. Complete environment rebuild times are below one hour.
