What is a Certificate of Expertise credential?

Certificates of Expertise are upper-level credentials available to RHCEs who pass upper-level performance-based exams. The certificates are incremental credentials, attached to an RHCE certification, that demonstrate skills and knowledge in specialized areas.

Classroom training

Red Hat offers a robust 6-month schedule of classroom training in more than 40 locations across North America. Classes are taught by Red Hat-certified instructors who actively engage students in task-focused activities, lab-based knowledge checks, and facilitative discussions.

Length:5 days

Training units: 13

  • Experienced Linux system administrators responsible for maximizing resource utilization through performance tuning

  • An RHCE interested in earning a Red Hat Certification of Expertise or a Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) credential

  • RHCE certification is required to take the related exam (EX442) or enroll in a version of this course that includes the exam (RH443).

  • If you want to take a version of this course without the exam (RH442 or RH442VT) and have not earned your RHCE credential, you can confirm whether you have the correct skill-set knowledge by passing the online skills assessment.

In addition to classroom training, this course is offered in the following training methods:

On-site team training

Training teams together is a proven way for IT staffs to maximize performance and savings, and optimize Red Hat technologies. Available for the entire JBoss and Red Hat curriculum, on-site training solutions offer flexibility and cost-effective training options, whether at your offices, at our training venues, or hosted in a virtual environment.

Recommended next exam or course:

Hands-on, performance-based, 4-hour exam.
Equips application programmers and senior system and security administrators for SELinux policy writing, including management, compiling, and debugging.

This course prepares you for these credentials:

RHCA certification incorporates the skills and knowledge of RHCDS plus advanced networking services security, system monitoring, and performance tuning.
Certificates of Expertise are incremental credentials attached to an RHCE certification that demonstrate skills and knowledge in specialized areas.
