Red Hat Unveils Enterprise Channel Partner Program for Large Internet and Systems Integrators
Research Triangle Park
United States, March 23, 2000Expansion of Fast-growing Reseller Network Helps Top Integrators like Computer Horizons Easily Capitalize on Fast-growing Linux and Open Source Opportunities
Red Hat®, Inc. (NASDAQ:RHAT), the leader in open source Internet solutions, today introduced the Enterprise Channel Partner Program for the largest resellers and network and systems integrators that service some of the world's most established and successful enterprise companies.
Computer Horizons Corp.'s (NASDAQ:CHRZ) G. Triad operating unit, a leader in a new breed of end-to-end e-Solutions providers, is the first company to join the Enterprise Channel partner program. Each Enterprise Channel Partner receives joint marketing and co-branding opportunities, 50 copies of the Red Hat System Builder Edition, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) training and priority support, including 20 incident bundles that it can use itself or resell to select customers.
"The impact that the Linux operating system has had on modern computing is monumental. As we move to deliver more advanced and scalable Web applications to our client base, it is imperative that we are involved with the best providers of software in that marketplace," said Gerry Libertelli, President of G. Triad Development Corporation, a division of CHC ebSolutions. "Our alliance with Red Hat will allow us to expand on our already robust Linux capabilities, hand-in-hand with the market leader in open source operating systems, services and information."
Continues rapid growth of reseller programs
The Enterprise Channel Program expands Red Hat's rapidly-growing, successful channel program. Since its launch in December, 1999, more than 500 resellers have joined one of Red Hat's channel programs, which tailor Red Hat's powerful, industry-leading open source expertise and solutions for today's value-added resellers (VARs), system integrators, system builders and custom application providers.
"Today's resellers are looking for both an aggressive margin structure and excellent support as well as ongoing training and solutions designed specifically for their unique needs," said Lisa Sullivan, director, channels marketing, Red Hat, Inc. "We have a program that delivers these services to a wide variety of resellers and their customers."
Red Hat Reseller Starter Kits provide a turnkey package that gives resellers and integrators a quick, competitive entry into the growing Linux market. They include all the products, services and training needed to get resellers up and running quickly to maximize open source opportunities. For resellers who prefer a more significant partnership with Red Hat, there are three starter kits tailored to their businesses; System Builder Starter Kit, System Integrator Starter Kit and Application Provider Starter Kit. The Enterprise Channel Partner Starter Kit includes more training and support in order to serve the needs of larger resellers.
Red Hat Reseller Starter Kits are currently available from Red Hat distributors in the U.S. and Canada and have pricing options available from $500 to $5,000. More information on Red Hat's Reseller Programs can be found at http://www.redhat.com/partners/join/join.html.
