Red Hat Announces Opening of Nordic Office

Red Hat (Nasdaq: RHAT) the world's leading provider of open source solutions to the enterprise, today announced the opening of its Nordic sales and business development office. The office, located in Stockholm, Sweden, represents a strategic step in the expansion of Red Hat's business in EMEA.

"Red Hat's growth in Europe demands that we add key resources to markets
in the Nordic region," said Alex Pinchev, President, Red Hat International Operations. "We see an increasing demand for Open Source and Linux-based solutions across a wide range of application areas in Northern Europe, especially in the public sector."

Leading the sales effort in Northern Europe is Magnus Svensson, sales director at Red Hat Sweden. Magnus has 15 years of experience in the software industry and was responsible for the roll-out of Veritas Software in the Nordics. Under his direction, the Veritas Nordic office grew from one to 40 employees.

"Companies within the Nordics are starting to see the benefits in low cost and flexible open source solutions." said Magnus "I look forward to working with Red Hat's partners and expanding it's success to enterprises and the public sector within this region."
