Red Hat Convenes Industry Leaders To Discuss Future Direction of Middleware
Santa ClaraUnited States, March 23, 2010
JBoss team hosts first interactive virtual forum to explore issues shaping direction of enterprise middleware
Red Hat (NYSE: RHT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions, today announced that it will host the first online virtual forum, Middleware2020, to discuss the future use of middleware in enterprise IT. The virtual forum will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 from 11am EST-4pm EST and will be accessible via webcast. Audience members will hear presentations from industry leaders and will be encouraged to interact with the presenters through live question and answers sessions.
Hosted and presented by Red Hat, Middleware2020, is a virtual forum designed to spark a broader conversation around the innovation and use of Java and middleware. As a technology platform, middleware has played a critical role in the evolution and success of modern computing over the last four decades. It exists in almost every aspect of technology, from the Web, to self services kiosks to financial services trading platforms, and its use within enterprise IT continues to evolve. Given the pace of innovation and the evolution of the industry as a whole, Red Hat aims to bring industry leaders together to collaborate and participate in an open dialog. Experts and veterans of the middleware community will explore these concepts and how middleware will continue to shape the future of enterprise IT architecture during Middleware2020.
"We've identified an undercurrent of discussion around the future of middleware, but the problem is that these conversations are happening independent of each other," said Dr. Mark Little, senior director, Engineering, Middleware, Red Hat. "Our goal by hosting this forum is to bring together thought leaders within the middleware community by providing a forum where a larger, more productive conversation can happen and vendors and users alike can give voice to their issues, concerns, and thoughts."
During the virtual event the audience will hear 30 minute presentations from key industry leaders and will be encouraged to participate in a 45 minute interactive question and answer session featuring all of the presenters. Organizations included in the virtual forum include; Red Hat, Accenture, Adobe, Google, HP, The Apache Software Foundation and SAP.
