AMQP
The Advanced Message Queueing Protocol (AMQP) specification creates an open standard for interoperable messaging; it defines both the wire level protocol for messaging (the transport layer) and higher level semantics for messaging (the functional layer). The AMQP Working Group maintains the AMQP specification and includes both vendors and industry users. The Working Group operates under an agreement that ensures that both the specification and all underlying IP are open. Under this agreement, AMQP will be submitted to a standards body when it is finished. For the full list of members and additional information about AMQP, see http://www.amqp.org.
Red Hat is a founding member of the AMQP Working Group and has been one of the key contributors in developing and editing the specification.
