Nortel promotes a "Standard Operating Environment" that maintains a common set of tools and processes in the roll-out of Linux and other operating system images. There are a number of opportunities, challenges and pitfalls with bringing this about at an enterprise level. This presentation highlights our learnings and the factors we consider when using Linux in production environments.
