As NFSv4 is slowly maturing with the new kernels of Linux, Redhat's 2.6.18 kernel seems to be more promising to handle this protocol. With more work still in progress to completely incorporate the features of NFSv4 as documented in the RFC, recent implementation and testing of Oracle11g database on RHEL5.0 clients over NFSv4 has proven to be a success.
