Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Middleware products deliver high performance, reliability, and security and are certified by leading hardware and software vendors. Red Hat JBoss with Cloud Access enables you to move your Red Hat Enterprise Linux and JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) subscriptions to the cloud, providing a consistent application environment across physical, virtual, and cloud deployments.

Red Hat® JBoss® Enterprise Application Platform

JBoss EAP is Red Hat's Java EE application server platform for next-generation, highly transactional enterprise Java applications. JBoss EAP delivers the integrated clustering and high-availability features you need to effectively and efficiently run your enterprise applications.

The Red Hat Cloud Access program enables JBoss EAP customers to migrate new or existing subscriptions for use at selected Red Hat Certified Cloud Providers. This added benefit enables you to leverage the power of public clouds to meet increased demand, improve response times, or simply as a back up.

Red Hat® JBoss® Enterprise Web Server

Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Middleware products deliver high performance, reliability, and security and are certified by leading hardware and software vendors. Red Hat JBoss with Cloud Access enables you to move your Red Hat Enterprise Linux and JBoss Enterprise Web Server (EWS) subscriptions to the cloud, providing a consistent application environment across physical, virtual, and cloud deployments.

JBoss Enterpise Web Server (EWS) is Red Hat's Java web server platform for light-weight web applications. JBoss EWS delivers the most popular open source HTTP Server and Java Servlet Engine, and backs them up with long term enterprise product lifecycles and support.

The Red Hat Cloud Access program enables JBoss EWS customers to migrate new or existing subscriptions for use at selected Red Hat Certified Cloud Providers. This added benefit enables you to leverage the power of public clouds to meet increased demand, improve response times, or simply as a back up.

To be eligible for either JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) or JBoss Enterprise Web Server (EWS), a customer must:

  • Meet the minimum subscription requirements below:
    • Have at least one 64-core Premium subscription in a single Red Hat account and have a direct support relationship with Red Hat.
    • Customer eligibility for Cloud Access for JBoss is only valid while actively subscribed to Premium subscription of 64 cores or more for the selected product.
    • Contact Red Hat sales to purchase additional eligible subscriptions if this requirement is not met.
  • Move only unused subscriptions to the cloud. Any number of subscriptions may be moved, as long as the minimum subscription requirement is achieved. For example 20 subscriptions may be moved from the total of 64 cores.
  • Agree to Red Hat Cloud Access subscription terms and conditions of use.
  • Agree to Red Hat Enterprise JBoss subscription terms.

NOTE: Customers with JBoss offerings supported by third parties or hardware OEM offerings are not eligible for use in the cloud.

JBoss products can be moved to the cloud using the guidelines below.

  • One JBoss EAP or EWS core maps to one virtual core in the cloud, regardless of instance size (small, large, extra-large, etc.), for instances not in the Cluster Compute or Cluster GPU families.
  • One JBoss EAP or EWS core maps to one physical core as defined in the Cluster Instance Hardware Specification for instances in the Cluster Compute or Cluster GPU families.
  • Customer may not simultaneously run a single JBoss core in two locations (e.g. on-premise or in the cloud); customer must not exceed the total number of cores under subscription, no matter where they are deployed.
  • One cloud provider account number may be associated with only one Red Hat account. Multiple cloud account numbers may be associated with a single Red Hat account.
  • Access to cloud instances are valid with only active, current JBoss subscriptions.
    • The customer is responsible for maintaining base images and applying critical errata or other updates.
