Red Hat Enterprise Linux Academic Desktop Edition
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Academic Desktop Edition is for single-CPU machines. Red Hat Enterprise Linux Desktop provides a high-quality, full-featured client system that's suitable for use in a wide range of desktop deployments. Productivity applications include:
- Email: Evolution, a sophisticated mail client that supports IMAP and POP3 mail servers and provides a look and feel that’s familiar to Microsoft Outlook users
- Document processing: OpenOffice.org 1.1, a comprehensive office suite, providing a fully integrated set of applications for preparing documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, and providing exceptional compatibility with Microsoft Office file formats for easy file sharings

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Academic Server Edition
Choose the Academic Server if you want to run virtual machines or if you need developer tools or server packages. This edition is supported by leading independent software vendor (ISV) applications and gives you the necessary technology for small to large server environments where a computer is providing services to a set of clients.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Academic Edition is for server systems and can support systems with greater than 2 CPUs and more than 8GB of memory.
Campus subscriptions
Campus-wide subscriptions provide all departments of your campus or multicampus system access to Red Hat Enterprise Linux Academic Desktop and Server editions. Total price is based on the size of your school.
Individual subscriptions
Purchasers receive an annual subscription to Red Hat Network, which doubles as a management tool and update repository. You'll have access to download all current and new releases of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
