Certificates of Expertise

The expertise exams were created as part of the Red Hat® Certified Architect (RHCA) certification program. Red Hat considers each Certificate of Expertise a worthy credential in its own right. It brings greater recognition and value to those who pass any of these challenging exams. Employers can hire Red Hat Certifcate of Expertise professionals with confidence that they are qualified and have proven their skills.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

Certification program requirements:

Only a current RHCE is eligible to earn one or more of the following Certificates of Expertise:

  • Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Security: Network Services
    (Related exam: EX333)

  • Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Deployment and Systems Management
    (Related exam: EX401)

  • Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Clustering and Storage Management
    (Related exam: EX436)

  • Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Performance Tuning
    (Related exam: EX442)

  • Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Directory Services and Authentication
    (Related exam: EX423)

  • Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in SELinux Policy Administration
    (Related exam: EX429)

Current RHCE status is not required for the following Certificates of Expertise:

  • Red Hat Certified Virtualization Administrator
    (Related exam: EX318)

  • Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in ESB
    (Related exam: EX431)

  • Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Persistence
    (Related exam: EX297)

  • Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Seam
    (The related exam, EX311, is no longer offered)

All expertise exams are performance-based, meaning that candidates must perform tasks on a live system, rather than answering questions about how one might perform those tasks.

The hands-on nature of these exams make real-world experience a critical facet of preparation.

Earning an Certificate of Expertise can extend a current window of an RHCE certification earned on Red Hat Enterprise Linux® 6 technology. See recertification policies for more information regarding current window for all credentials.

AUDIENCE

RHCEs who:

  • Want to demonstrate that they have the advanced or specialized skills reaching beyond RHCE-level, in one or more of the following areas: network services security, deployment and systems management, clustering and storage management, performance tuning, directory services and authentication, or SE Linux policy administration.

  • Are on the path to earning a Red Hat Certified Security Specialist (RHCSS), Red Hat Certified Datacenter Specialist (RHCDS), and Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) credential.

Anyone who:

  • Wants to demonstrate that they have specialized skills in virtualization, ESB, Persistence, or Seam.
