RPM is a powerful package management tool embedded within Red Hat Enterprise Linux, but most administrators and developers do not take full advantage of what it can do for them. Using the packaging guidelines established by the Fedora community, this session will help you learn what RPM is capable of, and how to apply best practices to your own RPM packages. This is a very technically focused session, where attendees step through an example RPM, discuss delivery mechanisms such as yum and Red Hat Network, and highlight common mistakes that RPM packagers make.
