Creating Cluster Aware Applications for Performance and High Availability: Using Red Hat's Cluster API's in Theory and Practice Tracks: Integrated platform

Steven Dake

RHEL 5 expands on the capabilities available for cluster applications. While cluster unaware applications can be configured for failover, even greater resiliency, functionality and performance is available. This session will outline the capabilities of Red Hat's clustering API's including the standards based openais and Distributed Lock Manager. Openais provides checkpointing, messaging and eventing capabilities. DLM provides a highspeed, cluster wide synchronization mechanism. The interfaces and their use will be outlined. Additionally, a sample application will demonstrate how these interfaces can be used.
