There are about a dozen virtualization technologies for Linux, some of which are trying to become the defacto virtualization standard for Linux users everywhere. However, Xen, KVM, lguest, UML and Open VZ are all very different technologies. This presentation compares these technologies, explains the underlying principles and predicts what might get adopted into the upstream (kernel.org) Linux kernel.
