Cobbler, an application developed in the Red Hat Emerging Technologies Group, addresses complex provisioning needs involved with deploying bare-metal systems, re-deploying existing systems, and provisioning virtual environments. Cobbler abstracts out the differences between provisioning types and enables administrators to concentrate on what they wish to deploy rather than how it should be deployed. It seamlessly integrates such advanced concepts as yum repository mirroring, kickstart tree mirroring, dhcp management, and kickstart templating. Cobbler is an open-source application that supports both Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Fedora from a unified environment.
