Instituto Nacional Central Unico Coordinador de Ablacione Implante (INCUCAI) is a decentralized body of the Department of Health in Argentina that regulates and oversees the procurement and transplant of organs and tissues throughout the country. In 2003, they started renovating the IT environment, replacing outdated systems, and creating a large modular system based on web applications. The underlying operating system had to offer the highest levels of reliability, support, and security. In January 2005 the system was updated Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Chicago Mercantile Exchange Uses Red Hat Enterprise Linux to Double Trades and Halve Hardware Costs

The more trades the futures exchange can complete per day, the more money it makes. This is exactly what happened when CME initiated its migration from Sun Solaris to Red Hat Enterprise Linux in early 2004. Their number of daily trades more than doubled, resulting in a significant revenue spike. Red Hat Enterprise Linux also delivered a twofold increase in performance and enabled CME to save 50% on overall hardware costs in calendar year 2004.

Central Bank of India migrates to Linux, expects to save $1 million in two years

When regulations mandated that Indian banks be fully computerized by December 2004, Central Bank of India knew it must find a solution optimized for scalability and focused on ease of support and maintenance. After some testing, Linux was clearly the best choice, with Red Hat as the partner. CBI has now implemented the Red Hat solution across 1,115 branches, with 1,770 additional branches planning to deploy Linux in 2004.

The Chronicle Herald is the biggest independently-owned newspaper in Canada and boasts a daily readership of 333,000. As a thoroughly automated newspaper operation, The Chronicle Herald requires a highly available server and operating system to keep operations moving 24x7.
