Introduction to Ansible Molecule

Jump to section

Abstract

As organizations continue to move toward Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and declarative automation, it is increasingly important to have tooling that supports reliable development and operations. Operations teams can find building idempotent, reusable, and error-free Ansible roles difficult, and face increasing challenges with configuration drift, testing across multiple operating systems, and recovering from failed automation runs. Simple linting and check-mode runs aren’t sufficient, requiring additional testing technologies. However, you can manage these issues with a testing framework like Ansible Molecule.
