This annual event, hosted by the Information Technology Security Office, is intended to raise computer security awareness for Census employees and contractors. SuperComputing 2009, Portland, OR

Defying constant changes in the economic climate, the SC conference continues to grow steadily in size and impact each year. Approximately 4,100 people participated in the technical program in 2008, with about 11,000 people overall.

Established 21 years ago, the conference has built a diverse community of participants including researchers, scientists, computing center staff members, IT and data center management, application developers, computer manufacturing personnel, program managers, journalists and congressional staffers. This diversity is one of the conference's main strengths, making it a yearly "must attend" forum for stakeholders throughout the technical computing community.

The Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) promotes cooperation among the Armed Services, Industry, Academia and various Government agencies in pursuit of improved training and education programs, identification of common training issues and development of multiservice programs. Initiated in 1966 as the Naval Training Device Center/Industry Conference, the conference has evolved and expanded through increased participation by the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Industry. In 1979 it became known as the Interservice/Industry Training Equipment Conference.
