A Red Hat Certified Architect in Cloud-native Applications (RHCA® - Cloud-native Applications) is a Red Hat Certified Engineer in Cloud-native Applications (RHCE® -Cloud-Native Applications) who has attained our highest level of certification by passing —and keeping current— three additional certifications chosen from the Cloud-native Applications specialization.

This track is designed for professionals who want to prove their expertise in the modern development lifecycle, focusing on the architecture and management of scalable, resilient, and responsive applications.
To attain RHCA status in this specialization, candidates must build upon their foundational engineering skills by earning and maintaining at least three additional certifications. This path allows developers to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the cloud-native ecosystem, including:
- Cloud-Native Development and Containerization: Mastering the creation and deployment of applications specifically designed for containerized environments.
- Resilient Microservices: Designing distributed systems that can withstand failures and scale dynamically to meet demand.
- Event-Driven Architectures: Developing sophisticated, real-time applications that utilize asynchronous communication and event-driven logic.
- Enterprise Application Administration: Managing and optimizing application server environments to ensure high performance and stability within cloud infrastructures.

Candidates for Red Hat Certified Architect in Cloud-native Applications must hold a current Red Hat Certified Engineer in Cloud-native Applications Certification and earn any three of the following certifications:
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in Enterprise Application Development exam (EX183)
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in Enterprise Application Server Administration Exam (EX248)
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in Building Resilient Microservices Exam (EX328)
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in Cloud-native Development exam (EX378)
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in Event-Driven Application Development Exam (EX482)
While it is not necessary to earn Red Hat Certified Engineer in Cloud-native Applications prior to attempting these exams, you will not be awarded Red Hat Certified Architect in Cloud-native Applications until you complete the base requirements for the certification.
Candidates who earn specialist certifications on their journey toward RHCA automatically extend the currency of any other RHCE, RHCASA and RHCA credentials they hold in all specialization paths.
